Little by little adds up!

As a mother to 10 kids I often get the question, “How did you do it?” Okay, so here’s one of my biggest secrets… I USUALLY DON’T DO “BIG THINGS”!!!!
So often, we think change has to come from big, dramatic shifts. But the truth is, the little things matter most. Whether it’s reading your Bible for just ten minutes a day, teaching your children small truths, taking care of your body with a bit of exercise, or simply drinking more water—these daily decisions add up over time.
God reminds us in Zechariah 4:10 (NLT): “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” He delights in our first steps, even if they seem small in our eyes. What may look insignificant now is the very seed He can grow into something beautiful and lasting.
As a creative and wild soul lists and routines are my friend. Start with just working on a morning routine and build from there. Little kids thrive on routines, not the clock. Meaning, once they get the hang of your morning routine they will begin to go onto the next thing without you having to tell multiple kids what to do. They will just do it! But, momma has to be the example and set the pace and they will naturally follow. Their “clock” to tell them what to do next, is WHAT you are doing, not the real clock. If someone gets off track ask them, “When I do this, or when sister does that, what are you supposed to be doing?” This way your day can adjust very easily if you wake up early or late. Littles love to follow the examples of the big kids too. Start your day well and the rest of the day will go much better. These little things of getting your day started on the right foot matter, don’t underestimate them!
Don’t overlook the power of consistency. Small beginnings, surrendered to God, carry eternal impact.
What is one “small beginning” in your life right now that you can commit to being faithful in, trusting that God will use it for something greater?
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You delight in the small beginnings. Help me to be faithful in the little things, trusting that You will multiply them for Your glory. Give me patience to stay consistent, strength to keep going, and eyes to see the beauty in each step. May every small act be a seed planted in faith, growing into something that honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Mountain Yaya ❤️
